 The Islands have some of the finest examples of ancient historical sites of great importance. Although these sites date back to several thousand years B.C. the first mention of the Hebrides was by the Ancient Greeks c. 55 B.C. For further details visit our History Section.

 A recent addition is our "Articles" section. Several of our visitors have sent us newspaper clippings, articles they have written and other material. This section will continue to grow on a regular basis so remember to check it out often. There are also many articles, such as the story of the Lewis Chess Men (left) in our other sections. The area has a rich culture, expressed in it's Music and Arts. We have provided a Scottish Music and an Irish Music Section and we have also provided a collection of Scottish Books which include guide books and history books on the region. We are continually adding to these sections so it is often worth revisiting them on a regular basis but if you are looking for something in particular please do not hesitate to contact us.
